Program is intended to meet the needs of people with disabilities and assist them to become more independent
Program details:
- financial assistance to people with disabilities
- amount of benefit depends on size of family, shelter costs, income, and assets
- if an applicant does not receive a letter from the Disability Adjudication Unit (DAU) within 2-3 weeks of applying, stating that the application has been received; or if a letter of their decision is not received from the DAU within 8 weeks after the first letter, applicants can call the DAU at 1-888-256-6758
- to report Welfare (Ontario Works) or ODSP misuse or fraud call 1-800-394-7867
